850 years of Munich
A brief city history
From the first settlers on the banks of the Isar river and the regency of the Wittelsbachs to the dark ages as "capital of the Nazi-movement" and back to great times as city of commerce: The journalist Rudolf Ites and Munich Tourist Guide Georg Reichlmayr are proving that 850 years of Munich's history can be presented in a most briefly and entertaining way. All most important and somtimes colourful personalities are lively explained, like Henry the Lion, Emperor Ludwig the Bavarian, Lola Montez, King Ludwig II., Karl Valentin or Franz Joseph Strauss. Of course the life of the ordinary peaople is as well explained as the history of fine arts and architecture.
